We are ready to celebrate the new year tomorrow! We found some great decoration ideas for you! This crepe paper wall hang will last longer than fresh flower and it’s a great activity with your kids.

You will need: a wooden dowel (available at your local hardware store and they should be able to cut it to whatever size you want – I used a 3/4″ wide by 24″ long dowel), crepe paper in various colors, stringclothespin clipsscissorsscrew punch, pen, and (optional) wooden beads (I had some painted pink ones leftover from another project)

Step 1: To speed up cutting out petals, fold crepe paper lengthwise into a stack that’s about 2″ wide, with about six layers. Hold the stack together with clips.
Step 2: Use this template to trace petal shapes along the stack. Make sure that the template is placed so that it goes with the grain of the paper. Punch out the holes in each stack of petals with the screw punch.
Step 3: Cut out petals. Repeat the process with each color of crepe paper.
Step 4: To fluff each petal, gently stretch the paper at the edges to create a ruffle. You can ruffle four or five at once to save time.
Step 5: (Optional) Tightly wind string around the dowel. Tie on long lengths of string every 2″ along the dowel (you’ll thread the petals onto these).
Step 6: Thread the petals on and tie a knot at the end of each string. Alternate the colors of petals to create patterns.

Thank you http://ohhappyday.com for the amazing DIY project.
